MAJOR SPOILERS
WARNING! This article contains MAJOR spoilers for the recently released episode Scavengers. Caution is advised.

Starbase 21 was a 23rd century Federation space station, a starbase operated by Starfleet in the 2270s decade. (TAS episode: "How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth?")

History and specifications[]

In the year 2270, the starship USS Enterprise traveled to Starbase 21 after its encounter with Kukulkan. (TAS episode: "How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth?")

A station of this designation remained active after the Burn and into the 32nd century. By the 3180s decade, its location was marked on a holographic star chart in the command center of the Federation Headquarters space station. In 3189, Starbase 21 was on display on that star chart during a mission briefing held by Fleet Admiral Charles Vance. (DSC episode: "Scavengers")

Kelvin timeline[]

In the Kelvin timeline, Starbase 21 had entered operation by the 2250s decade. Soon after stardate 2258.42, the USS Enterprise was ordered by Admiral Deigaro to ferry Ambassador Sarek and his entourage from Akiron, where the diplomat and the crew responded to a distress call, to Starbase 21. (TOS novel: More Beautiful Than Death)
