Starbase 231 was a Federation starbase facility in Starfleet service in the 24th century, located somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant.

History and specifics[]

In the year 2370, Deanna Troi's class reunion was held aboard Starbase 231. (TNG episode: "Thine Own Self")

The mention of this starbase in dialogue did not reveal any further particulars about the base location or facility type. The fact that Counselor Troi was able to return to the Enterprise at Barkon might be taken to indicate some proximity to that star system, presuming she could travel in a short-range vessel like a shuttle. However, it is also possible she employed a visiting starship for high-speed transport across a greater distance.
