Starbase 264 was a Federation starbase in service during the 24th century.

History[]

In late 2371 or early 2372, the starbase's chief of security was a Ktarian. Following the loss of the USS Enterprise-D, some of the ship's former crew resided at the starbase, including Data, Deanna Troi and Geordi La Forge.

At that time, Data participated in an experiment with Dr. Sofia Borges at Starbase 264 in which his emotion chip would be adjusted to simulate Tamarian cognitive processes. While developing the procedures, Data became frustrated by Borges and La Forge, and directed destructive anger toward the interior of the laboratory. He was then confined to his guest quarters at the starbase and visited there by Troi. Later, after the chip was properly programmed, the Tamarian language team departed the starbase aboard the USS Krishna to rendezvous with Tamarian ambassador Denin and her aides.
