Starbase 47, constructed as Starbase 210, was a 23rd century Federation space station, a starbase in Starfleet operation from the late 2260s decade. It replaced Vanguard, which previously held the designation "Starbase 47". (VAN novel: Storming Heaven)
Service history and disposition[]
Starbase 210 was an orbital starbase constructed in the year 2269. It was renamed with the SB47 moniker following the destruction of Watchtower-class Starbase 47-Vanguard by the Tholian Assembly. (VAN novel: Storming Heaven, VAN novella: In Tempest's Wake)
In 2343, the nearby space around Starbase 47 was considered a zone of Cardassian expansion. (TLE novel: The Art of the Impossible)
By the 2370s decade, this starbase used the same configuration as the Federation relay station 47[5]. (TNG episode: "Parallels")
The station's location was marked on a star chart in Fleet Admiral Kirsten Clancy's office at Starfleet Headquarters in 2399. (PIC episode: "Maps and Legends")
A station of this designation remained active after the Burn and into the 32nd century. By the 3180s decade, its location was marked on a holographic star chart in the command center of the Federation Headquarters space station. In 3189, Starbase 47 was on display on that star chart during a mission briefing held by Fleet Admiral Charles Vance. (DSC episode: "Scavengers")
Alternate timelines[]
In one quantum reality, the Cardassian Union had reprogrammed the Argus Array to spy on certain Federation facilities, including Starbase 47, in 2370. This was uncovered by the Enterprise. (TNG episode: "Parallels")
