Starbase 91 was a Federation space station, a Watchtower-class starbase in Starfleet service in the 23rd and 24th century. Starbase 91's lay several light-years outside of the Lembatta Cluster, in the the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. It was nicknamed "last petrol station before the unknown". (PRM novel: Fire with Fire)

History[]

Starbase 91 was constructed in the year 2275 to monitor the Federation's neighbours, the Klingon Empire and the Gorn Hegemony. A deep-space sensor phalanx, Echelon 1, was positioned alongside it. However, fifty years of peace with the Klingons, and self-isolation of the Romulan Star Empire and the Gorn diminished the station's strategic value. Although the station was kept up-to-date for years, it was left to degrade since 2335. That caused systems like the tram to fail.

One of the establishments on the station was the Starlight.

With the plans to construct a new starbase at Cestus III in 2382, the Starbase 91 was relegated to a stopover for trade routes.

By 2385, the USS Lakota-B docked at SB91 every one or two weeks between its patrols of the Lembatta Cluster. (PRM novel: Fire with Fire)
