The Starfleet Materiel Supply Command is a department of Starfleet that deals with supplying, storing and transporting technology around the United Federation of Planets.
The SMSC transferred over thirty-seven million metric tonnes of technology and consumables to reconstruct and maintain Deep Space 9 after the Federation took control of it in 2369. (DS9 reference: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual)
