Starfleet Security School

Starfleet Security School was an instructional division of Starfleet Academy for the training of Starfleet security personnel.

History and specifics[]

In the 23rd century, the school was based in Annapolis, Maryland. Its training regime qualified one to serve as a starship security chief. (TOS novel: A Flag Full of Stars)

The curriculum took 1.5 years to complete. Classes ranged from Federation law, marksmanship, unarmed combat, personal weapons technology, security procedures, and small unit tactics, to native psychology, operation of environmental suits, and piloting of shuttles. In particular, the Security School provided martial arts classes. (DSC novel: Drastic Measures)

Ensign Sydney Elliot completed training at Starfleet Security School shortly before her assignment to the USS Gagarin circa the year 2279. (TOS novel: In the Name of Honor)

In the 24th century, the Security School was based in San Francisco at the Starfleet Operations Center. Its senior officer was Chief of Starfleet Security, who reported to the Chief of Starfleet Operations and the Federation President. (Adventures RPG module: The Operations Division)
