The Starfleet archives was a Starfleet facility near San Francisco. A museum was also part of the archives, that contained a quantum archive that contained a number of personal effects of active, deceased and retired Starfleet officers such as James T. Following an encounter with Dahj Asha, Picard visited the archive's museum to examine one of the late Commander Data's paintings known as Daughter. (PIC episode: "Remembrance")

In 2261 of the Kelvin timeline, James T. Kirk and Nyota Uhura accessed classified files in the Starfleet archives pertaining to the NX-class Slayton, which had been lost a century earlier in system Wagner-219. (SA - Starfleet Academy comic: "Issue 2", "Issue 3")
