In the mirror universe, Starfleet uniforms were uniforms worn by individuals who served in the Imperial Starfleet. These uniforms facilitated the wearers' needs as soldiers of the Terran Empire. The uniforms were used to display an officer or crewman's current status, rank, divisions, and decorations awarded over the course of their service. The uniforms typically included standard sidearms (phase pistols in the 2150s and phasers from the 2160s onward) and daggers, military decorations, and shoulder braces or sashes. Some officers also wore a Sam Browne belt.

Throughout the history of the Starfleet uniform, there were distinctive difference between commissioned and enlisted personnel as well as male and female service members.

2150s[]

Duty uniform[]

During the 2150s, the standard officer uniform was a navy blue jumpsuit with division color (red, aqua, or gold) stripes at the shoulders. The insignia of the Terran Empire was worn on a patch on the right shoulder, and an assignment patch based on the posting of the officer was worn on the left shoulder. Decorations and medals were worn on the left breast and shoulder brace. Certain officers also wore radiation meters. (ENT episodes: "In a Mirror, Darkly", "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II")

This uniform was worn by the Imperial Starfleet's higher-ranking flag officers, including admirals. This uniform was navy-blue in color and featured red and white stripes at the shoulders. Similar to the duty uniform, the insignia of the Terran Empire was worn on a patch on the right shoulder while decorations and medals were worn on the left breast and shoulder brace.

Enlisted uniform[]

Like the duty uniform, the uniforms worn by enlisted crewmembers displayed the insignia of the Terran Empire on a patch on the right shoulder, and an assignment patch based on the posting of the officer on the left shoulder. However, the uniform did not display any rank insignia, nor any decorations or medals.

EV suit[]

In use during the 2150s, the environmental suit (or "EV suit") was made of a copper-colored, rubber-like material and featured helmets connected by thin material that allowed a wide range of movement. Featuring a heavy chest plate sitting on the shoulders, these suits were worn with tight-fitting gloves (with zipper connections) and shoe-like boots, with heavy, ridged soles. The suit had an independent air supply and gravity boots, which provided stability by adhering to a compatible surface.

The helmets were illuminated from within, casting a blue light on the wearer's face, with lamps mounted on either side of the head to illuminate the surrounding area (if needed). Air supply gauges were located on the back of the suit, as well as on the sleeve. Identifying name tags and assignment patch logos, based on the posting of the officer, were located on the chest plate, alongside a built-in communicator, tied into an ear piece.

2250s[]

Duty uniform[]

By 2256, the duty uniform consisted of a black jacket and pants with raised division-colored striping encircling the shoulders (five stripes for men, four for women) and down the side seam of the jacket and pants (six stripes for all uniforms). The jacket featured a metallic division-colored collar with a grey-colored zipper closure running from the center line of the jacket at the bottom to the center of the collar. Officers often wore black fingerless gloves. The uniform also featured a thick division-colored belt in which officers could keep phasers and daggers. The pants featured front thigh pockets with division-colored zippers, and an apparent front fly. The shoulders, knees, and elbows had distinct textured fabric sections.

The division-colored metallic Terran Empire insignia was worn on the right breast. Decorations and medals were worn on the left breast. The uniform included shin-high boots, with division-colored trim around the edges of the soles.

Officers had the option to wear a chest piece for additional protection. The chest piece was asymmetrical and featured a division-colored line which extended from the left shoulder to the right waist. The right shoulder and arm could also feature shoulder and arm pads.

2260s[]

Duty uniform[]

By the 2260s, the uniforms were similar to those discovered aboard the USS Defiant in 2155, but were altered to be more in line with the uniform standards of the Terran Empire. In 2267, the standard officer uniform consisted of black trousers with a division color (red, blue, or gold) tunic. The insignia of the Terran Empire was worn on the right breast. Decorations and medals were worn on the left breast. Rank insignia was displayed as gold braid on command officer jackets and vests, and sleeve stripes for junior line officers.

First officer's variant[]

First officers could wear a uniform that was similar in style to a dress uniform. In cases where a first officer served as a department head, their uniform could be the division color of their department. All variants of this uniform featured an open collar as well as as a closure running down the front of the uniform. The collar and closure could also be trimmed in gold. A wraparound tunic was worn underneath.

The command division variant was colored gold, the operations division variant was red in color and the sciences division variant was blue in color. Notably, the wraparound tunic worn underneath the sciences division variant was navy-blue in color.

As with the standard duty uniforms, the insignia of the Terran Empire was worn on the right breast while decorations and medals were worn on the left breast.

Duty jumpsuit[]

Everyday work jumpsuits were usually worn with no assignment or rank patches visible. Duty jumpsuits came in a division color (red, blue, or gold). The jumpsuit had medium length sleeves and was worn open in the front, sealing at the waistline. A standard black undershirt was worn underneath.

2280s-2330s[]

Duty uniform[]

2280s[]

By the 2280s, the uniforms had been radically redesigned. The uniforms of this period bore the new Terran Empire insignia on a brass-colored pin worn on the left breast; officers wore the insignia with a round-ended rectangular shield backing it. However, officers also had the option to wear a 2260s-style Terran Empire insignia instead.

By 2285, the officer uniform sported black trousers and a double-breasted red jacket worn over a turtlenecked undershirt. The undershirt, along with stripes on the pants, shoulder, and left sleeve had distinctive division colors. The jacket closed by a clasp at the right shoulder and a sealing mechanism that ran along the black stripe. This allowed the wearer to have a more relaxed appearance and likely allowed more circulation of air. The uniform also featured a featureless blue or brown belt, which could also contain a holster to carry a phaser. However, officer also had the option to wear a gold sash instead.

Officers also had the option to wear a wide collared shirt instead, which could be worn over a grey undershirt.

Jackets worn by enlisted crewmembers were two-toned, featuring tan shoulders and being red from the chest down.

Aside from a standard duty uniform, female officers could also wear an optional blue pants and top combination, with a bare midriff. A uniform with a skirt was also available.

2290s[]

Mirror Chekov, 2293

By 2293, the uniform jackets had become two-toned, with the right side being black while the left side was still red, which extended from the left side of the uniform down the right sleeve. The stripes on the shoulder and left sleeve no longer displayed the division color, instead being universally gold colored. The Terran Empire insignia had been redesigned.

2330s[]

By 2333, the uniform jackets had reverted to a style more similar to those worn in the 2280s. The jacket featured a high collar which displayed the assignment patch on the left side of the collar. Both sleeves had stripes which displayed division colors, whereas the pants no longer featured any stripes. Undershirts were no longer worn and the Terran Empire insignia had reverted to a style more similar to those worn in the 2260s.

Female uniforms featured a skirt and jacket combination, with a bare midriff.

The division color was displayed on both the shoulder tabs and a division stripe on the left sleeve, just below the elbow.
