Stavros Niarchos was a founding commandant of Starfleet Academy. In his opening address to cadets in the early 2160s, on reference stardate 0/91, he reminded them of the war games disaster involving the UNSS Enmity and UNSS Hammer, pointing out that the cadets would gain training and experience to prevent a recurrence of the incident. - Spaceflight Chronology established Niarchos as the Academy's first commandant. However, Rafael Douglas was so named in ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years.
