Stella Mudd (née Grimes) was a 23rd century Human woman and the daughter of arms dealer Baron Grimes.

Biography[]

In 2256, Harry described him and Stella as star-crossed lovers who were separated by the events of the Federation-Klingon War of 2256. In actuality, he fled to avoid marriage, and the outraged Grimes posted a reward for Harry's location. After USS Discovery broadcast his coordinates, Stella and Harry reunited in the transporter room. Stating that he was prepared to do anything for the sake of his daughter's happiness, Grimes agreed to take on Harry's debts in exchange for a wedding. (DSC episode: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad")

In 2261 or 2262, Harry married Stella for her money. (TOS novel: Mudd in Your Eye)

The date was 7 years, 8 months, 6 days prior to this story, according to a Stella android, although Harry could have lied about the date.

They shared a residence together. (TOS - Mudd's Angels short story: "The Business, As Usual, During Altercations")

Considering her to be a shrewish wife, Harry soon fled from her. (TOS episode & novelization: I, Mudd)

In 2263, Stella divorced Harry in absentia. She married Bischoff, one of the wealthiest residents in the Hoffman system. In 2265, Stella inherited Bischoff's estate after he disappeared, and used some of the money to purchase a new identity and a hotel on York III, which she tended to micromanage. (TOS novel: Mudd in Your Eye)

At some point, Stella Mudd's mother moved in with her daughter. (TOS - Mudd's Angels short story: "The Business, As Usual, During Altercations")

In 2268, Stella was picked up by the USS Enterprise and brought to Distrel for a medical emergency. She was flattered to be the only person able to resolve a situation and save thousands of lives, in which a disabled Stella android had jammed Distrel's resurrection transporter. Her appearance reinitiated the system, but then a noble death was required to restart it. Harry quickly volunteered, slapping the head of Prastor to defend Stella's honor. They agreed to a duel, and vaporized each other with disruptors. The system restored Harry to an unknown location. Stella was first to realize this was his means of escape. (TOS novel: Mudd in Your Eye)

In 2270, James T. Kirk and Leonard McCoy escorted Harry to Stella's residence, but Stella's mother threatened them away with a shotgun, so they hastily retreated. (TOS - Mudd's Angels short story: "The Business, As Usual, During Altercations")
