Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! As always, the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Strange New Worlds and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG and Star Trek Online, as well as other eventful releases such as Section 31, the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Also, please do not include details in the summary bar when editing pages and do not anticipate making additions relating to sources not yet in release. THANK YOU

Steven S. Long is an RPG developer and author for Last Unicorn Games and Decipher.

In the 1990s, shortly after the founding of Last Unicorn Games, founders Christian Moore and Owen Seyler joined forces with Long, Kenneth A. Hite, and Ross A. Isaacs to develop LUG's "ICON" system, which was implemented in their Star Trek Role Playing Game. Long served as co-line developer for the DS9 game.

After LUG was sold to Wizards of the Coast, Decipher hired most of LUG's former employees, including Long, to adapt the LUG game for its Star Trek Roleplaying Game. After the company stopped publishing Star Trek content, it returned Long's unpublished sourcebooks so they could be shared online as unlicensed publications.

Outside of Star Trek, he worked on Decipher's Lord of the Rings RPG with Moore, Seyler, and Issacs. For ten years Long served as line developer for the fifth and sixth editions of the Hero System at Hero Games.
