Strombolian fir

A strombolian fir was a type of evergreen tree which produced a melodic bell-like sound when swayed by the wind. Strombolian firs grew on Betazed, on a small lake island near the home of Ven Kaldarren and his son, Jason. (TLE novel: Well of Souls)

"Strombolian^WP" normally relates to a type of small volcanic eruption, commonly seen on an Italian volcano, Stromboli. It is unclear how this descriptor might apply to these Betazoid fir trees.
