The SuQ'jagh class assault cruiser was a Klingon warship that was created for the express purpose of planetary assault during the Klingon Empire's invasion of the Cardassian Union. After the invasion, the Klingon's expanded its role for ship-to-ship combat by the introduction of multiple torpedo launchers. They were also crewed by the bravest melee armed warriors in the empire who would board enemy ships through a commando boarding craft which could breach the shield as well as hull of the enemy ship. Once aboard, the warriors would either weaken or take over the enemy ship, a tactic that was even used on Borg ships. (ST video game: Armada)
