The Suliban Cabal was an interstellar terrorist organization in the 2150s decade.

History and specifics[]

The Cabal was composed of rogue Suliban who had undergone genetic enhancement; the Cabal was controlled by a mysterious benefactor from the 29th century who gave advanced technology to the Cabal in exchange for his use of the Cabal to manipulate events in the 2150s. (ENT episode & novelization: Broken Bow)

Following the closing of the 22nd century front in the Temporal Cold War and the Cabal losing access to their benefactor Jamran Harnoth[1], the Cabal began to dissipate. But unaffiliated Suliban refugees continued to be persecuted by the Tandaran government and other factions.

In 2162, Malurian criminals, disguised as Suliban Cabal, staged an attack on a Tandaran colony. The Federation cut a deal with the Tandaran Empire that saw Suliban refugees welcomed in the Federation for asylum. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: A Choice of Futures)

In the 24th century, Agent Shelan was a descendant of Cabalists and joined the Federation Department of Temporal Investigations to help and do the right thing, to balance out the wrongs perpetrated by the Cabal. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)

By the 25th century, a former Cabal helix space station had become home to Suliban and Romulan refugees. They feared reprisals from other species for the actions of the Suliban Cabal before being granted protection by the Romulan Republic. (STO - From the Ashes mission: "The Helix")

Alternate timelines[]

In the Kelvin timeline, Suliban nomads roamed in armed starships the Neutral Zone, and it was not always clear which nomas were and were not affiliated with the Cabal.

In 2262, Lieutenant Commander Montgomery Scott warned the artificial intelligence Maia at Home Station that the Suliban Cabal had been launching attacks on Andoria, indicating a heat up in a cold war. Scott feared the conflict was creeping towards the Neutral Zone. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
