A supercontinent was a planetary landmass, a continent that incorporated the majority of a planet's landmass and was surrounded by islands. (ST reference: The Klingon Empire)

History and specifications[]

Save for surrounding islands in the planet's four oceans, the landmass of Qo'noS was combined into one supercontinent. Due to its size, the landmass experienced a variety of climate zones and weather phenomena. (ST reference: The Klingon Empire)

This supercontinent was known as Kastad. When the tyrant Molor conquered Kilgore Island in the 9th century, Molor's empire stretched across all of the Qo'noS landmass. (ST reference: The Klingon Art of War: Ancient Principles of Ruthless Honor)

Alternate timelines[]

In an alternate timeline where Clan Ru prevent the extinction of the terrestrial dinosaurs on Earth 65 million years earlier, Romulan warships masquerading as a diplomatic squadron bombarded Qo'noS, destroying an entire continent and killing billions in the mid-23rd century. (TOS novel: First Frontier)
