Supu ya kiazi was a type of traditional yam soup popular in Africa on Earth.
History and specifics[]
In the 2260s decade, Nyota Uhura gave Nurse Christine Chapel an old recipe for supu ya kiazi, made with green onions, green pepper, oil, sweet potato, tomatoes, beef or chicken broth, salt, pepper, and parsley. She adapted the dish to be served by the USS Enterprise's food processors, and it was apparently well-liked by the ship's crew. (TOS reference: Official Cooking Manual)
