Sven van Anling was a 23rd century Human man, a career Starfleet officer. By the 2240s decade, van Anling had reached the flag officer rank of commodore.
Biography[]
In the 2240s, van Anling had white hair and a thin mustache. He looked frail but was in full health. In the year 2242, Commodore van Anling ordered Captain Robert April to oversee the construction of the Federation starship USS Enterprise. (TAS novelization: The Counter-Clock Incident)
In the 2250s, Sven van Anling served as executive officer of the USS Vega during the Four Years War.
Shortly after the conflict ended, he taught Contemporary Federation Military History at Starfleet Academy. One lecture to graduate students focused on the early months of the war, citing activity at Axanar, Andromeda system, Genmarx, Janni IV, Kyclydun, Lea, Nozsceca VIII, and Xamdab II.
