The Swift Solaria-class was a series of starships used by Orions for various purposes, including Orion slave girl trafficking, in and near the Orion Neutrality Area during the 23rd century.
Specifications[]
Vessels considered to be of this type were based on the notorious Swift Solaria blockade runner, which had twin type FWB-2 warp nacelles placed above and below its hull.
Specifications varied for 25 variant configurations known to have been constructed, but vessels under 30,000 metric tons exhibited a speed boost due to their engine placement. This type of craft also had a type FIB-2 impulse engine. Armament and shuttlecraft were not standard, although the prototype had them. These ships were equipped with two transporter pads, one of which could beam 30 people at a time. The ship had ten passenger staterooms which, with 4-up bunks, could fit 40 passengers. When fully loaded, these vessels could cruise at warp five (OCU) and reach an emergency speed of warp six.
Service history and disposition[]
2,784 vessels were produced from the Mark II to Mark XXVI variants. The Mark II type went into service in the mid-2250s, on reference stardate 1/9602. Hull registry numbers ranged from R210000 to R230000. (Stardate Magazine vol. 1, Issue 3/4: "Swift Solaria (OSB-1190) Orion Slaver/Blockade Runner")
