Syba Avtra was an ancient Bajoran, and crown Prince of the Lerrit.
During his mother's failing health and eventual death, Syba plotted a resurgence of hostilities against the Perikia. He went so far as to hire shipbuilders from Jerad Province and ally with the Bajora for arms. However, the Bajora used the his alliance to gain a toehold in Lerrit territory, as Syba was sterile and would be unable to produce a heir to the throne. (DS9 short story: "Horn and Ivory")
