Sylva was a 23rd century humanoid woman native to the planet Jodarr.

History[]

By the 2260s, Sylva was in love with Major Rolano.

In 2266, King Ledoy announced that he would marry Sylva the next day during coronation ceremonies rather than wait a year to choose a bride. Sylva told Rolano, then guards arrested him for touching her and Ledoy sentenced him to death. Sylva pleaded to spare his life, but Ledoy was reluctant, and his wizard Vrunon agreed that any sign of weakness would spur defeated kings to rebel.

James T. Kirk aided Vrunon in exchange for ordering Rolano's freedom. Eventually, Vrunon realized that it was wrong to advise ruling through fear, and after further advising the king, Ledoy freed Sylva so she could be with Rolano. (TOS comic: "Spore of the Devil")
