The Syrrannites were a Vulcan movement that appeared in the 22nd century and was founded by Syrran.

The group consisted of Vulcans who followed the true teachings of Surak which had become lost or distorted in time. They, specifically, objected to the militaristic approach that the Vulcan High Command was using at the time and also believed that their kin had disregarded Surak's ways by making use of deception, distrust and hostility which was demonstrated by the spy array found at the monastery at P'Jem. Furthermore, the treatment of Humans was another sign of the corruption that had taken hold of their species. (ENT episodes: "The Forge", "Awakening", "Kir'Shara") One of the practices of the Syrrannites was psi-linking between spouses; an act that was not widely accepted in the mid-22nd century. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)

The leader of the movement, Syrran, had a tremendous amount of influence among his followers mainly because he possessed the katra of Surak himself. Beneath him, T'Pau and T'Les were also prominent members of the movement by 2154. During that year, the United Earth embassy on Vulcan was destroyed through the use of a bomb which was suspected to have been orchestrated by the Syrrannite movement after being implicated by the Vulcan government of the crime. After an investigation by Captain Jonathan Archer of the Enterprise it was learnt that the movement was entirely innocent of the crime and the Human along with the Syrrannites worked to fight against the oppression of the Vulcan High Command. The actions of Archer and the Syrrannites resulted in the Vulcan Reformation in 2154 by the discovery of the Kir'Shara. (ENT episodes: "The Forge", "Awakening", "Kir'Shara")

After her appointment to Administrator of the Confederacy of Vulcan, T'Pau began to instill Syrrannite teachings of pacifism within the new reformist Vulcan government. Whilst psi-linking between two Vulcans was a Syrrannite practice, it was still not socially accepted by the rest of the Vulcan population by 2156. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing). Even as late as the mid 23rd century some older Vulcans considered mind melding to be uncouth. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Uncertain Logic)
