System 1324 is a star system containing at least four planets located at the edge of Federation space, 37.48 light years from its border with the Klingon Empire in the Beta Quadrant.

System 1324's orbit was the location of a number of worlds, including fourth planet 1324-IV.
In 2265, a small group settlers founded a colony in System 1324.
In 2266, while responding to a distress call from the settlement, the starship USS Enterprise pursued an attacking Orion freighter out of System 1324. The smuggling ship attempted to evade the Enterprise within the asteroid belt of a neighboring system, then self destructed, striking the starship with a devastating electromagnetic pulse that left the impulse engines inoperative for at least one week. A tricky warp maneuver was required to get the ship back to System 1324. They dropped out of warp 1.68 AUs from 1324-IV and eventually retrieved the settlers and surviving security squads.
