T'hy'la was a term used in the Vulcan language which was used to indicate a close bond with another individual, alternately meaning some component combination of the meanings of the English words "friend", "brother", and/or "lover".

History and specificsEdit

In the year 2273, Spock thought of James T. Kirk as his t'hy'la, and mentally said goodbye to him as he prepared to receive his symbol of "total logic" by Vulcan master T'sai. (TOS novelization: The Motion Picture)
