T'lak was a Klingon warrior in the Klingon Defense Force.
Biography[]
He served as Gowron's guard for years before 2370. He was with him on Taganika for Pok's lop'no and witnessed the assassination attempt against Gowron, which resulted to the death of his friend and ally, Torghn by a Romulan assassin probe.
Swearing to get revenge for the attempt and his friend's death, Gowron borrowed the bird-of-prey IKS Tagana and started a quest to find those responsible. Gowron's search began in the bar bItuHpa on the planet Balka. During or after their first visit, T'lak had some exchange with the treacherous bartender Meska behind Gowron's back, and Meska paid him with some Acta crystals. He also carried with him a Galorine credit slip.
- Because of that exchange, it is possible that T'lak was the unnamed guard who accompanied Gowron to the bar.
During the rest of the time T'lak was acting odd, making Gowron suspicious. It is possible that it was he who installed the detonator in the Tagana's bridge, programmed by Aleria.
They were led again to Balka, now after Meska. T'lak followed Gowron and Pok, with the guard Ler'at and the old warrior Ler'at with them, on the planet. They beamed down to bItuHpa armed with disruptors, but Meska had disappeared. The Klingons then decided to wait in case some of Meska's connections might know his whereabouts; they delivered their disruptors, although T'lak kept one hidden, and enjoyed some Klingon opera from Aleria.
Gowron claimed he was short of money to pay the singer, and asked T'lak to pay, promising the double amount when they get back. T'lak pulled from his pocket two Acta crystals, the same ones Meska had given him; he didn't know that Gowron had paid Meska for their drinks in their first visit, and had marked them beforehand. As he paid Aleria, Gowron grabbed his hand, and realised his connection to Meska. He shoved T'lak to the floor and the other Klingons holded him.
Gowron turned his back to him, giving threats, but T'lak was able to free his hand and pull out his second disruptor; however Aleria saw him and shot him first. On his body found the credit slip, further connection to the conspiracy, as Meska had business there. They returned to the ship leaving his body on the floor, dying honorless.
