T'nae was a Vulcan admiral serving in Starfleet in the early 25th century. (STO website: The Path to 2409; ST video games: Star Trek Online, Legacy of Romulus)

Biography[]

The admiral was interviewed for Illuminating the City of Light in 2405. T'nae stated the belief that the invasion of the Korvat star system by the Klingon Empire was purely to emphasize that the Klingon-Federation alliance had been terminated. (STO website: The Path to 2409)

By 2409, she was the commander of Starbase 39-Sierra, and was almost solely responsible for assigning missions on the Romulan Front. (STO episodes: "Romulan Mystery", "Freedom")

T'nae is only present in the "Freedom" episode for Federation-aligned Romulan Republic characters. KDF-aligned characters deal with Klingon Intelligence officer Temek instead.

In 2409 she and Ambassador Jiro Sugihara represented the Federation at a summit on Khitomer to decide whether the Federation and Klingon Empire would grant political recognition to D'Tan's nascent Romulan Republic. She made it clear to the Virinat Survivor that she did not like or trust the Romulans. (STO - From the Ashes mission: "Turning Point")

When Empress Sela launched an attack on Vulcan in revenge for the destruction of Romulus not long after the Khitomer summit, T'nae commanded the defense from her flagship USS Loma Prieta. (STO - Romulan Mystery mission: "Empress Sela")

Alternate timeline[]

Tnae alternate

T'nae on Pictae.

In an alternate timeline created by the absence of the USS Enterprise-C from Narendra III, the Federation had been eradicated, and T'nae was working as a laborer on a Tholian station in the Azure Nebula. A freighter captain (either a Federation or KDF captain who has also been affected by the changes in the timeline) recruited her in freeing the captive Enterprise. She accompanied Tasha Yar, Richard Castillo, and the freighter captain aboard the Enterprise, which battled Tholian starships. While the freighter captain was removed by the timeship USS Pastak after the battle, T'nae's fate was unknown. (STO mission: "Temporal Ambassador")

T'nae's pre-Season 9 appearance.

T'nae is voiced by Lani MinellaWP in Star Trek Online. Among other roles Minella also voices Subcommander Mivek and Commander Phillipa Matthias, and started providing the voice for the Federation computer after Majel Barrett died.

As with all other Starfleet NPCs in Star Trek Online, T'nae's appearance received a minor update between the launch of Season Nine: "A New Accord" and Season 9.5 that changed her uniform from the 2386-2409 "Sierra" style to the 2410s "Odyssey" style. She was also made to look slightly older.

Apocrypha[]

According to Star Trek Online lead writer Christine Thompson, T'nae's hostility toward the Romulans is due to having been a young officer on one of the Starfleet ships attacked by Nero's Narada in 2387. This was stated in an interview with the fan podcast The Foundry Roundtable, but does not come up in-game.
