Tal Berel was a male Betazoid who lived on Baridia II in the late 24th century.
In 2370, Starfleet Command asked him to step out of retirement to conduct negotiations between the Klingon Empire and Cardassian Union at Deep Space 9. Unfortunately the runabout on which he traveled was booby trapped with a bomb that destroyed it as he arrived at the station. Sisko, Kol, Marok, and Dukat shared Berel's last moments and words.
