Wasn't McCoy's "big-eared friend" from the bar scene in The Search for Spock supposed to be an Arcturan? And weren't they featured in The Lost Years, too? Does the depiction in Early Voyages match with that, or are we looking at another Rigelian/Rigellian/Chelon situation? --TimPendragon 22:24, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Not Sure I had a look at Memory Alpha and googled them but didn't turn up anything so just put in what I had from EV - 8of5 22:40, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Just checking: these are distinct from Arcturians, aren't they?--Emperorkalan 01:44, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- That's what I'm wondering, too. I'll dig through my Early Voyages collection to see if they have a similar appearance. --TimPendragon 01:45, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, the species is referenced by name only, so, there's no way to know if they were meant to be the same species. My guess is yes, since the names are so similar, and they seem to be part of the galactic underworld, much like the Acturians. But there's no way to know. --TimPendragon 01:54, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

- The natives of Arcturus are called Arcturans in The Lost Years, described as bulky with translucent chalk-white skinJustinGann 13:39, 10 November 2008 (UTC)JustinGann 13:39, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- Some more descriptions of the Artcurans of Arcturus in the Lost Years:
"humanoid, with the ghost-pale skin of...[the] forehead...heavily creased with folds of excess skin" "Her earlobes were pendulous" "She was quite bald save for the crown of her head, on which sat a shock of platinum hair" They speak "pidgin standard", ie: "On Arcturus, you will find public comms not. Private comms, yes. Money much more." Does this match the big-eared fellow from Search for Spock?JustinGann 15:24, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- This The Lost Years info at least seems to confirm Arcturans and Arcturians as the same race. --8of5 16:08, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
