name/terminology[]

The Romulan term "Great Bloom" does not, in fact, refer to the Bassen Rift, which existed prior to the battle fought there during the events of "Nemesis". It does, however, refer to a rupture in the fabric of spacetime located inside the Rift that acts as a tunnel to the Small Magellanic Cloud and was said to have formed as a direct result of the Scimitar's destruction. The other end of this tunnel is known to the Neyel and their neighbours as the "Riftmouth". Inside lies the "Sleeper" or the "Red King" entity / sentient proto-universe. (cf.
