Descriptor[]

While the descriptor "infantry" does describe this grade of captain as revealed in the source "The Romulan Way", i feel it is a bit clumsy in terms of the scope of this grade's use -- there are many more captains of this grade than just those in infantry. -- Captain MKB 14:07, April 12, 2012 (UTC)

I'm not even certain I see much of a difference between this and the "Captain" article. -- sulfur 14:48, April 12, 2012 (UTC)
Well the big difference is that naval captains are three grades higher than military captains. they are separate ranks.
a naval captain is a military colonel and a military captain is a naval lieutenant.
the difference is basically described in "The Romulan Way"'s glossary, but there is just more to it than the descriptor they used. for example, Captain John Christopher holds this rank, but he is not a member of infantry. therefore the descriptor is not broad enough to be the proper disambiguant.
I think i've found the answer, too. -- Captain MKB 15:00, April 12, 2012 (UTC)
