:::Perhaps we should not be definitive on this article then, and note all the possibilities. Though in the case of Denebia from what the articles we have describe it sounds like the story might have only referenced the drink, rather than specifically stating the animal came from there - maybe it's a Denebian in-joke to name a drink after the animal from the other Denebs, or something...--[[User:8of5|8of5]] 21:03, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Deneb IV or Deneb Kaitos IV?

The references in this article to the slime devil's home planet link to Deneb IV. Given that slime devils were known to the Klingons in the 23rd century, whereas the inhabitants of Deneb IV, the Bandi, were not contacted by the Federation until the 24th century (TNG episode: "Encounter at Farpoint"), isn't it more probable that the slime devil's home planet is Deneb Kaitos IV? This is especially likely because Diane Duane describes the Deirr, the natives of Deneb Kaitos IV, as having seemingly slimy skin consistent with their having evolved on the same planet as a creature called a "slime devil". Well The Worlds of the Federation only refers to them on Deneb IV. Though the Deneb Kaitos IV page states it's commonly referred to as Deneb IV, and it would make more sense for it to be that Deneb IV which was more local in the 23rd century. So yeah, sounds like you've got that right. --8of5 02:28, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
But then there's the information on Denebia, which claims that that planet is separate from the Deneb system. Sigh... --TimPendragon 20:55, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
