First name?[]

Note: The article USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) personnel lists "Lieutenant Elizabeth Palmer", and the article List of TOS Characters includes a listing for "Palmer (Lieutenant)". Besides the fact that it seems redundant to have both of these lists (along with the categorization systems here), I also want to point out that neither of these Palmers have any other articles connected to them, making it impossible to tell where the first name "Elizabeth" may have come from. --Seventy 03:15, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Finally found out where the first name of Elizabeth came from, TOS - Star Trek II Short Stories short story: "Under Twin Moons". Time for a move back to Elizabeth Palmer? --The Doctor 17:39, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
I'd say so, unless we have conflicting names from another source? --8of5 18:49, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Well I'm looking through her various appearances and references at the moment, but as far as I know this is the only forename to be given to her. Erring on the side of caution, I'll leave the page here for now, rather than move it back again when a new name turns up. --The Doctor 18:53, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Ops Manual[]

In the "Centauran" section of the Starfleet Operations Manual, "Palmer" is listed among examples of that race's family names. I'd say that does imply that Palmer is a Centauran, at least according to Decipher. --TimPendragon 17:06, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Tim, I missed that paragraph when I skimmed through yesterday :D. I've adjusted the paragraph accordingly, but I don't know this makes her conclusively Centauran. I'll throw this one out there. --The Doctor 17:19, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm sure that's what Decipher intended, but it was never picked up on in any of their publications that I'm aware of. Honestly, it seems to be reaching, like they wanted an identifiable character as a Centauran and shoehorned her in there. "Palmer" doesn't exactly fit with the other names they provide! Without any more substantive evidence, I'm happy to keep her as a human, but I thought it should be noted. Thanks, Doc! --TimPendragon 17:54, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
