Very interesting page, but why no mention of Gary 7?

BTW, after I linked Julian Bashir to this page, I added the links because this page was listed as a "Dead-end".

Wonderful page, but it indeed needs Gary Seven, Isis, maybe Roberta Lincoln, definitely 'Debtors' Planet' and probably at least a teeny-weeny mention of the fact that lterature - such as 'Wringing In The New Year' and 'The Knowing Look' (both by Tracy Torme) - were lost in that period. After all, knowledge of that period was, in 2267, "fragmentary".

Given Gary and Roberta's covert role in events, it's probably actually a good thing that this "first draft" doesn't mention them, but yes, there should be a section on the deeper secrets of the EWs, including Khan's twisty relationship with the Ageis operatives.--Emperorkalan 21:03, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Science Talk[]

I'd agree that it's clear there's been a lot of work to make this a very interesting and informative article. There are a few isolated spots that feel like slightly off-base science babble... I'm not sure if this is the result of misunderstanding on the authors' behalf of the principles being discussed or perhaps just some copy and pasting from Trek bibles elsewhere? One example I'm not sure about myself... in the "The War" section, does anyone else know more about how appropriate it is to use the term "carnivorous" speaking about flesh-eating strep A bacteria? I know in the story it's supposed to be a new strain, but this doesn't seem right to me.

The other example I came across was this sentence in the section "The Augments": 'In the mid-22nd century, Dr. Arik Soong would theorize that a defect in the genomes of the Augments created a problem in the base-pair sequences that regulate the neurotransmitter levels in their brains, causing them to be highly prone to aggression and violent behavior.' If this sentence means the problem was that the base pair sequence that coded for the proteins that regulated neurotransmitter levels in their brains was defective, isn't the use of the phrase 'a defect in the genome' to explain its cause some crazy causal logical loop? The alphabet is 26 letters long because it has 26 letters in it. Ahhhhh Somewildthingsgo 03:23, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Seems to be fairly 'cause leading to effect' to me (i don't see the problem) -- defect in genome = chemical imbalance = bad behavior. There's no loop because the bad behavior doesn't cause the defect? Unless I'm misunderstanding? The science from the episode seems pretty straightforward.
I've no idea on correct scienticfic use of 'carnivorous' for bacteria. -- Captain MKB 13:40, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

I've got a question, this page is mostly based on Greg Cox's eugenics wars books. Now recently the star trek khan comic have come out. So how well do the star trek Khan comic mesh with Cox's Eugenics war novels?--69.66.145.0 19:17, February 9, 2014 (UTC)
