Why is this page titled "First Splinter timeline" when Oblivion's Gate introduced the concept with the wording "Second Splinter"? Convoy-47 (talk) 11:49, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

Oblivion's Gate pages 51-52: "We are the First Splinter timeline. Every moment we have lived since the Enterprise-E returned from its mission to 2063 Earth has transpired in this new temporal reality."
As far as I can tell, The Second Splinter is just the title of the first chapter. Gilgamesh de Uruk (talk) 12:09, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

the First Splinter's notability is that it was the only timeline out of any of them where Kira was chosen as the Hand of the Prophets and thus was able to help save the universe at the cost of all the Splinters (including her own).

the "Second Splinter" chapter was about the Second Splinter timeline which establishes there were a number (thus the numbering) of other "splinter" versions of the First Splinter timeline where things ran roughly parallel but each with key differences. note that chapter features them failing miserably - the Second Splinter was consumed and ended and then the focus of the narration shifted to the First -- captainmike •••• 20:50, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
