I think I may be wrong, but thought to ask anyway: if Captain Picard commands the flagship of Starfleet, would he not be then a 'fleet captain'? 75.140.69.196 06:50, December 21, 2009 (UTC)Just another lurker...

Captain's Log: Pike
In Captain's Log: Pike, Pike, in answer to Colt's question "What exactly is a "fleet captain," anyway?", says "It's sort of like an old-style flag admiral. In the event of a large-scale military mission, I'll be directing the movements of an entire squadron. It's not a common rank, but Starfleet is gearing up for the possibility of open conflict with the Klingons." Does this contradict any earlier sources? --Archimedean 05:14, September 12, 2010 (UTC)
- Not really, pretty much hits it on the button. -- Captain MKB 12:47, September 12, 2010 (UTC)
