The Galen referenced in A Singular Destiny is never actually identified as Vesta class, it's pretty strongly hinted at admittedly but never given as concrete fact. --8of5 15:46, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

And Full Circle confirms the Galen is not Vesta class, though doesn't actually specify the class. The Galen is an "Emergency Medical Vessel" crewed by holograms, which apart from the hologram bit fits with it being Olympic class. --8of5 14:43, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
since both are medical vessels within 6 years of each other, do we have a reason to not believe they are the same ship? -- Captain MKB 04:25, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Not really, the Emergency Medical Vessel is a new concept, but it isn't made clear if that means it's also a new class. And as we don't know the duration of the Galen's mission yet it could well be around for the events of Countdown, heck if it continues to function as an Emergency Medical Vessel that's exactly the sort of mission it would go on. --8of5 11:47, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
