The latest post on this page says that Naomi Wildman is a child in this book and that this is an incorrect portrayal. She should be only 6 yrs old (not a "teenager") though she should be as mature as a teenage human. Is she actually portrayed incorrectly in this book? Or is it the poster who is mistaken about her age? --Jdvelasc 03:57, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

I recently finished rewatching Voyager and Naomi's last appearance was Homestead, in which she was still a little girl. I don't know about Human/Ktarian growth rates (Naomi did experience Soap-Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome) or her precociousness, but she should definitely still be a little girl in 2378.
Ah, Naomi Wildman apparently matured very fast and was planning to enter Starfleet Academy in Old Wounds (novel) that same year. There must be have been one hell of a growth spurt between Homecoming and Old Wounds in 2378. -- BadCatMan 04:37, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

I think the development was taken as an example of Ktarians experiencing a rapid growth different from humans. the fact remains that the character was 6 years old chronologically, and was played by an actress almost twice that age, and was considered to be a viable candidate for entering higher education shortly after that point in her development. i'm not sure if additions to this effect owe any explicit derivation from a source or if this is derived from a reader's interpretation of these facts. regardless of anyone perceiving an error, the simple fact is that she was an alien and obviously aging differently than a human - not an incorrect portrayal at all. anyone thinking this is 'incorrect' is really not correct, themselves... -- Captain MKB 04:41, August 31, 2011 (UTC)
