name[]

I realize that the "IKS Negh'Var" names "our" Negh'Var, but shouldn't this page still be "Negh'Var (mirror)"? Then it is much easier to see at a glance that it is a mirror universe ship. Just about all of the mirror pages have this ending in their name. Should they all automatically get it? Or only when necessary? - Jdvelasc 16:24, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Only when needed, mirror is to disambiguate, which this page should be anyway as there is also the IKS Negh'Var and the class page with the same name. -- 8of5 16:43, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Actually, I just realized that in "Warpath" this ship is specifically called the "IKS Negh'Var". I will move this page accordingly. Presumably that means the Gorkon should be "IKS Gorkon (mirror)" as well. --Jdvelasc 05:46, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Is the ship seen in "Shattered Mirror" and "The Emperor's New Cloak" ever confirmed as being the ship in "Saturn's Children" and "Warpath"? Has it been mentioned how the Alliance got it back? -- DS9 Forever 14:39, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

The "Negh'Var" was returned or recaptured by the Alliance at some point later in the year, when command was transferred to Captain Duras.--67.165.88.232 19:57, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
I think the ship from "Shattered Mirror" should be considered the "Regency 1", not the "Negh'Var". -- DS9 Forever (talk) 19:17, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
While under the command of the Regent of the Klingon Empire, the ship is also referred to as "Regency 1". "Regency 1" is another name for the ship, its not the real name of the ship its more of a nickname for the ship. Its "Negh'Var".--Typhuss999 (talk) 19:27, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
Agreed. "Regency 1" seems to be more of a call sign akin to "Air Force One" rather than a proper name. - Bell'Orso (talk) 07:06, December 17, 2014 (UTC)

recent move[]

Given how in the above discussion a valid source was cited as explicitly stating "IKS Negh'Var" for this ship's name, what is the reasoning behind the latest page move? Did another valid source explicitly use the "AKS" prefix? Even if so, this move seems premature. I doubt this prefix was used in any official sorce, which would trump all licensed material and allow for this move. And if it was used in a licensed source, then that is on par and in direct conflict with the novel "Warpath" cited above. In that case, moving this page to "Negh'Var (mirror)" would have been the appropriate thing to do to avoid giving preference to one equally valid source over another. - Bell'Orso (talk) 02:36, October 16, 2017 (UTC)

Sorry to be late with the explanation. Non-Terran mirror ships in STO lead their prefix with "A" (Alliance), i.e. AKS (Klingons), ARW (Romulan). However, that mirror universe is inconsistent with the novels' approach. Kind regards, -- Markonian 22:14, January 8, 2018 (UTC)
