Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Also, please do not include details in the summary bar when editing pages and do not anticipate making additions relating to sources not yet in release. THANK YOU

Link to Emperor of the Terran Empire[]

Why do we need to make the link twice as long when "Empress of the Terran Empire" is already a redirect? If we wanted to use such a lengthy form of linking, we wouldn't have that redirect. -- Markonian 18:34, February 2, 2015 (UTC)

Because its the wrong link, there is no Empress of the Terran Empire page on this wiki.--Typhuss999 (talk) 18:39, February 2, 2015 (UTC)

The reason we write red links or redirect links is to foster the connection of new and existing articles with the correct targets and the correct verbiage. There's no reason to alter the preferred language just because someone presupposes we need to not use redirects or not use red links. Typhuss is ill-informed and should stop this behavior immediately -- Captain MKB 00:08, February 3, 2015 (UTC)
