We might want to consider re-interpreting when The Galactic Whirlpool is set. For example, Memory Alpha places it in 2267. If we fiddle with it, we might be able to resolve the conflict with The Lost Years --Chops 00:36, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

- "Theres a problem with one of the dates. The Article says Kirk was 14 at the Time of Tarsus IV, but if we're to follow established tradition that the massacre was in 2246 and Kirk was born in 2233, he has to have been thirteen. But again, this contradicts 'Star Trek: Avenger' which has him at 14. What do I do? Leave it as a chronology error, or change it? --JimmyKirk 22:02, 8 June 2009 (UTC)"
I'm not especially familiar with the "traditional" chronological placements of these events nor the cited novel which others a slightly different dating. So for those of you who are, care to sort out any issue this might indicate? --8of5 20:59, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- I believe the often-contradicted-by-canon ST Chronology by the Okudas cites 2246 -- which would make him either 12 or 13 at the time given his canon birth year, depending at which point in 2246 we're talking about.
- IF it took place in 2247, he would be either 13 or 14, depending on whether it was before or after his birthday. -- Captain MKB 21:07, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
'A Flag Full Of Stars' indicates the Kirks were meant to be there for one week, but ended up there for three weeks. If Federation help arrived three days after the massacre, and it took Robert April two days to get there, he arrived October 12 [as per 'Though Hell Should Bar The Way'], and so the massacre was October 9. Kirk is said to be 14, but I've always liked the Chronology, so it's 2246 and he's 13. Riley is 4, so born 2242, not 2240 as given on his Memory Beta file User:Christopher Mace.
