Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

The planet Deneva had over one million people on it. The USS Enterprise happens to find the only two people not infected (Aurelan and Menen). The man who drove into the sun turns out to be the brother of Aurelan and son of Menen. Later, when Spock goes to the surface and captures an infected man at random, that guy turns out to be Aurelan's fiancé (Kartan). What are the chances? – AT2Howell 15:46, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

How do you know there were not other uninfected people hiding out, incommunicado? -- 14:59, 10 October 2022 (UTC)

Brent and Vinci[]

Does anyone have timestamps for the appearances of Brent and Vinci in this episode? both are listed but as i recall we had trouble with the user who was adding those references not being willing to accept that they were two different people. i'll probably re-watch at some point but if anyone could summarize it would save me the effort. usually we find that Vinci was a redshirt in a main scene and Brent might be in a corridor or establishing shot in his officer (conn or sci) shirt, or vice versa. -- captainmike •••• 14:59, 10 October 2022 (UTC)

From Memory Alpha:
On stardate 3288, Vinci was called to the transporter room as part of a security team, with Another Crewman that had to subdue Spock after Spock broke out of sickbay and then tried to beam down to the planet Deneva to get a sample of one of the flying parasites that attacked him earlier on Deneva but without Kirk's authorization. Vinci and the other crewman had Spock wait until Kirk could talk to him and then allowed Spock to beam down to complete that task.
Brent's appearance in this episode is listed on Memory Alpha, but not described. --Crossover Fan001 (talk) 20:48, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
Unfortunately MA's article might have the same problem - the same problematic type of user edits listing appearances without due diligence -- captainmike •••• 21:29, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
Brent's appearance was added to Memory Alpha's "Brent" and "Operation -- Annihilate!" articles by Gvsualan on 15 January 2010. You could try asking him for more details if he still remembers. --Crossover Fan001 (talk) 03:09, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
I think re-watching the episode like i originally planned will be easier than trying to dredge up the reasoning behind a 13yr old edit. -- captainmike •••• 03:12, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
