Same as Paul Bates?[]

Should Bates be considered the same character as Paul Bates and merged with that article? They both worked in the security department on the USS Enterprise. --NetSpiker (talk) 09:50, February 5, 2020 (UTC)

I don't remember why I made them separate characters. Maybe he was already set up into the security officers personnel template, or perhaps I fixed on the Yesteryear novelization saying that Paul Bates transferred aboard on stardate 5365.6. But since the Crucible book placed Paul Bates aboard in 2267, there's no reason why he couldn't be the same Bates that was aboard during "The Third Party". Good catch – I think they can be merged.--Meacott (talk) 02:29, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
Agreed. --TimPendragon (talk) 04:38, February 6, 2020 (UTC)
