Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Also, please do not include details in the summary bar when editing pages and do not anticipate making additions relating to sources not yet in release. THANK YOU

About Australia not entering the united earth government - this is a commonly held belief - the dialogue comes from TNG: "Attached", and this source is from http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Australia :

It is a common belief that Australia was the last state to join the United Earth Government in 2150, but Australia holding out was only used by Beverly Crusher as a hypothetical example when discussing the eligibility of the fractured planet Kesprytt with Jean-Luc Picard in TNG: "Attached."

I'm not sure why the above matter is listed here rather than somewhere else, such as the United Earth article, but I have another question: What's the source for this article?--Emperorkalan 01:10, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
An excellent question. There's way too much specific detail here that I'm unaware of ever being revealed anywhere, while details from post-First Contact books like Federation and The Sundered are completely missing. Unless "Jaster" can shed some light on this, I'm going to guess this is all largely his invention and vote for deletion.--70.94.229.133 01:43, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
