Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! As always, the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Strange New Worlds and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG and Star Trek Online, as well as other eventful releases such as Section 31, the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Also, please do not include details in the summary bar when editing pages and do not anticipate making additions relating to sources not yet in release. THANK YOU

Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

The QuD class, mentioned in only two computer games, is never refered to in any literature, or in the games for that matter, as a Heavy Destroyer, just as a Destroyer. Yet one of the moderators seems to think that it is, and continually puts redundant links back in the article that don't need to exist. I'm only saying that the information presented should fall in line with established sources. As I own and am well acquainted both games (Shattered Universe and Klingon Academy), I'm well aware with how the QuD is refered to in both games, so the corrections I made should stand. As an additional note, I don't believe it is necessary to have an article link for Heavy Destroyers, as most (if not all) destroyer-class ships seem covered under the destroyer article. -- unsigned by anonymous user

Did you know you're supposed to sign your talk page comments? please conform to our site's policy, it's a very simple process.
I apologize that there's been a miscommunication. The ship type of heavy destroyer was added to the article in 2006 by user:Darth Batrus, citing the source of Klingon Academy.
Now that you've begun a proper conversation about the matter we can certainly look into it.
In general, when we see anonymous users removing information or links, we err on the side of the established user. Until you register an account, you should be prepared to have information you edit cross checked, and in many cases, removed or adjusted in favor of the version added by an established user.
In terms of the necessity of linkages, we do keep separate articles for several ship types where the name is preceded by weight modifier. For example, we have cruiser and we also have heavy cruiser. In this case, we have a prior precedent and will follow it (again, following the precedent of established users) -- you are of course free to suggest changes, but I hope you understand why we observe precedent rather than restructuring the wiki based on anonymous IP addresses with only a few days of edits here. -- Captain MKB 19:32, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
