Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! As always, the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Strange New Worlds and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG and Star Trek Online, as well as other eventful releases such as Section 31, the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Has anyone noticed, there seem to be two different covers for this novel? The one shown here has Kirk in a green shirt, and Mitchell wearing the Enterprise insignia. If you look at Memory Alpha, the picture shows Kirk with a gold shirt, and Mitchell's insignia is a diamond shape (presumably the Republic's). Curious, anyone own both/either versions to confirm which was actually used? --8of5 19:52, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
The cover I have is the one used on Memory Alpha. Maybe the one we have was a pre-release cover? --Dr. John Smith 20:29, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Quite possible, if we need to replace it we shouldn't use MA's though, it has little copyright watermarking on it. --8of5 21:05, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

The common version has been uploaded without the watermarks. Seems to be a revision based on criticism, besides the insignia redesign on the basis of period accuracy, one decision that seems to have been made was that Kirk and Mitchell would wear identical uniforms, despite the fact that, in WNMHGB, Kirk wore the greenish-gold of command division and Mitchell the brown-beige of operations division -- and that they didn't alter his "operations spiral" insignia division marking (which is not a huge mistake, as in WNMHGB they hadn't exactly nailed down the division insignia, and many other characters had odd color/symbol combinations on their uniforms).. -- Captain MKB 16:54, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
