Might this be that type of ship -> -- 8of5 01:31, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Certainly might be possible, after all a type of ship from the 22nd century surviving into the 24th century is certainly possible. And the image does seem to match the description, but beyond that I'm not sure. --The Doctor 01:38, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've seen images of that type of ship batted around the internet for years, I assume they all come from a common source which I would imagine inspired the description in the book. -- 8of5 01:39, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Star Trek Chronology according to the Neutral Zone Star Ship Database. --8of5 01:41, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Definitely looks like a good bet to me. The Chronology was one book I never managed to add to my collection, but I reckon this was definitely Michael Jan Friedman's intentions when he was describing it. --The Doctor 01:46, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'll confirm: it's the design from the Chronology.--Emperorkalan 03:07, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- The comic depicted at left was a story about a 22nd century Romulan vessel that became trapped in the Bajoran wormhole -- undoubtedly visually based on Greg Jein's model built for the Star Trek Chronology.
- My only question -- when and how was this ship referred to as a "bird of prey" ? - Captain MKB 15:22, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- Passage from TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Republic:
- "Kirk tapped a stud on his control board and the oversized screen behind him came alive, displaying a ninety-two-old sensor image of a sleek, silver-gray Romulan Bird of Prey.
- Passage from TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Republic:
- The vessel was essentially a cylinder with a cigar-shaped nacelle aft of amidships on either side of it. Its underbelly bore the blue-green device of a proud, winged predator -- presumably, one native to the skies of Romulus, though no one in the Federation had ever determined that for sure." --The Doctor 15:34, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
