Is this a misspelled version of Shiarkiek (or vice versa)? -- Captain MKB 14:30, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

It (they?) also need to be distinguished from the Emperor Shiarkiek who died (was assasinated? I forget) in 2344 in Vulcan's Heart.--Emperorkalan 15:02, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Are they really different people? Seems odd that two men of the same name would be assassinated exactly 30 years apart? -- Captain MKB 03:30, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, both stories are by Sherman and Shwartz, so there's a good chance they are actually the same, but that means rereading Blood Sacrifice to see exactly what it says. I know for sure of the Vulcan's Heart version, because it was part of Dralath's play for power which resulted in the attack on Narendra III and his own downfall, and the rise of Narviat. Heck, according to Heart, the Tal Shiar were named in his honor. So either Blood Sacrifice is talking about the death 30 years prior, or there has to be some sort of "Shiarkiek the second".--Emperorkalan 16:26, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Having flipped through the end of Vulcan's Heart again, I find I almost remembered it correctly: I forgot the critical point for this article -- that Shiarkiek did not die, although Dralath's plot made it a near thing. So apparently he did survive until the Dominion War. But, to the original point, the correct spelling is "Shiarkiek" ("i" before "e").--Emperorkalan 14:58, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
