Is Starfleet Engineering another name for the SCE? -- Tough Little Ship 22:09, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

I imagine that they are, at the very least, related departments if not the same department. The "Starfleet Corps of Engineers" name dates back to ST2:TWOK, when Carol Marcus commented that' "It took the Starfleet Corps of Engineers six months in space-suits to tunnel all of this out." --Turtletrekker 22:16, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
My guess would be for SCE to be organizationally within Starfleet Engineering, but not synonymous. Starfleet has plenty of routine engineering tasks (ship and facility building and maintnenace), plus research programs, to occupy plenty of engineers, above and beyond the "special projects" that SCE typically handles.--Emperorkalan 22:36, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
