What's a "fan favoured titled"? -- Captain MKB 15:23, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

I still wonder what is the technical definition of a "fan favored title" -- does it mean this is a title that is a favorite? The title, or the series? How do we know the fans feel this way? I'm so confused. -- Captain MKB
Well I didn't write the original statement, just corrected it to American spelling and fixed the typo. However, I take it to mean that it is a title that is favored by fans when referring to novels that take place after Nemesis, in a similar fashion to the DS9 relaunch. However, whether this is technically correct is open for others to say. --The Doctor 22:30, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
In that case I'd also ask if its appropriate for us to comment about it -- after all, if even one "fan" thanks that "Spock's Brain" is his or her "favorite", then wouldn't that make "Spock's Brain" a "fan-favorite"? If even one fan likes Gold Key's comics better than IDW's comics, doesn't that make Gold Key a "fan favorite"?
Shouldn't we try for a more factual description that can be backed up, without commenting on which fans like it? How do we tell if enough fans like it to make it a favorite? -- Captain MKB 14:48, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

No polling, just observation, these books are commonly referred to as the TNG relaunch (on the hand full of online-forums where readers of Trek lit congregate) in the same vein as the DS9, Voyager and Enterprise "relaunches". They are not official titles for the books (thus it is a fan given designation), as Pocket don’t have a title, they are just TNG books that happen to be set in a continuity with a reasonably clear definition and attempt at cohesiveness set after Nemesis. --8of5 15:01, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

I disagree --there is only the most specious of reasoning being used in this article title. people persist in referring to this series by a name they themselves have devised for it. the titles 'tng relaunch' and tng season 8 have NEVER been used in any valid source. the article should not be named this. online forums are not valid sources for information on this site - Captain MKB 12:00, February 13, 2014 (UTC)

data alive[]

data is captain of Enterprise in Star Trek: Countdown, is this count?

No. Countdown is not related to the TNG Relaunch - two different publishers. --TimPendragon 03:51, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
