Since the Golden Books adaptation was published under the name "Too Many Tribbles" (and has different story elements from the episode), shouldn't it be listed as a separate entry under that title - captainmike Wiki-wordmark 23:15, December 28, 2019 (UTC)

It has the same story beats and tells the same story, just with 370 words and 16 illustrations. It begins with the Enterprise approaching K-7 and ends with Scotty's tribble joke. It does simplify things, like not showing Koloth, but Korax still insults the Enterprise and starts the bar fight. If these differences are enough that the book can get its own page, great! I was expecting to write that page, until I read the book and saw it as a direct adaptation.--Meacott (talk) 13:22, January 2, 2020 (UTC)

Well my overriding concern is that it has been moved to "main feature" status, over the fotonovel, which is a more complete adaptation. as the second, later and shorter adaptation it should not be at the prominence it is at now. the Fotonovel information should take precedence - captainmike Wiki-wordmark 15:35, January 2, 2020 (UTC)

Makes sense. I considered adding the Golden Book to the box as a comic book adaptation, as it would keep the fotonovel up at the top. I didn't try it because the sub-section header would label it a comic and I wasn't sure whether that would be right to do. Is that a good alternative, or is it best to just move the Golden Book to a new page?--Meacott (talk) 19:15, January 2, 2020 (UTC)
I think a comic type description is fine, now that you mention it - mkb
Thanks for your felixibility in getting this sorted out - i think the chilrens' book is fine to class as a comic but if there were any details about the adapted template that you felt could be refined, let me know. thanks again - captainmike Wiki-wordmark 17:39, January 3, 2020 (UTC)
No problem... Turns out the comic book coding is perfect for the Golden Book, as it displays all the right credits. Refinements seem unnecessary — the existing code even displays ViewMaster adaptations. The one thing I couldn't get to work wasn't with that template, but with the old timeline template. I'd like to include prev and next links for all the fotonovels, but no matter how I set up series4 information, it displays series4 as "Star Trek" or "Star Trek stories" rather than "fotonovels".--Meacott (talk) 23:32, January 3, 2020 (UTC)
